To be eligible for assistance from THE PETER ROONEY FUND,

• The child must be eighteen (18) years of age or younger.
• The child's physician and/or social worker must confirm the diagnosis and the family's need for funds.
• Due to special circumstances of many Alaskan families who have non-traditional jobs with no insurance coverage, the foundation believes that all funds disbursed will be spent on Alaskan families in need.
• No individual will be discriminated against for any reason including the fact that they may live outside of Alaska.

Based on the community nature of the fund, after all other factors are considered, equal preference for disbursements of funds will go to:

• Needy families within Wrangell, Alaska; then to
• Families within Southeast Alaska; and, finally
• Families in all of Alaska.

Families will be asked to complete an application provided through their physician and/or social worker. Funds will be disbursed either directly to the physician and/or hospital, or other providers; or, in the case of reimbursement, directly to the family.
